Learning to read begins long before Kindergarten.
The best way to ensure that a child has the skills necessary to learn to read is by having someone read aloud to them—beginning when they’re babies! Our 1000 Books program will help you keep track of the books you share with your child and provide little celebrations along the way. Children ages 0-5 can participate.
We have two ways to keep track of your child’s progress, online via Beanstack or with a printable paper log.
Beanstack:
- Download the Beanstack Tracker app on your device, and search for Woodridge Public Library (IL)
- Sign up to create an account for your child
- Start reading and log your progress
- Once you reach 100 books, stop by the Children’s Department to redeem your first reward
Paper Log:
- Print a log sheet here or pick one up in the Children's Department
- Start reading and log your progress
- Once you reach 100 books, stop by the Children’s Department to redeem your first reward
