Friends of the Library
Who are the Friends? The Friends of the Library are people like you who believe in and support the Woodridge Public Library as a valuable community resource. The Friends is a nonprofit organization that raises funds through its membership and book sales to provide programs, materials and equipment that fall outside the regular budget allocations of the Library. Friends may also be asked to volunteer occasionally.
The Friends book sale, located in the Lobby, offers used books for sale throughout the year. Materials for the sale come from items weeded from the collection and from donations from the public. Most needed are donated items in good condition, including new and popular books, and children’s books. The Library reserves the right to decline donations of materials that are old, stained or musty, or which will not sell well. No magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks or discontinued formats such as VHS tapes, cassette tapes or records are accepted. Donations are limited to 3 bags or boxes and must be brought to the Circulation Desk.
The Friends can be reached at friends@woodridgelibrary.org.
