Homeward Bound Quilters

Throughout January, the Library Art Gallery will display a variety of handmade fabric quilts from the Woodridge-based Homeward Bound Quilters in an exhibit titled "The Art of Quilting."

Artist Statement from the Homeward Bound Quilters:

"We are a group of women who sew quilts for the children at Almost Home Kids, a facility that provides transitional care for children who are ready to be discharged from a hospital but are still in need of extended medical and nursing care.

We make a quilt to be given to each child for their use during their stay and to take home.

All the quilts are handmade and 100% cotton. We also make quilts for sale with proceeds going towards materials for making more quilts for the kids."

The quilters will hold an Artists' Reception, which is open to the public, on January 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Lobby.
