The season continues with A Conversation with Jerry Craft: From Mama’s Boyz to New Kid and Beyond. Craft is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator, as well as a syndicated cartoonist. Listen in as Craft talks about life and art and gives a drawing demo that will be fun for the whole family!
Craft is the author-illustrator of #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novels New Kid, and its companion book, Class Act. New Kid was the first book in history to win the Newbery Medal (2020), The Coretta Scott King Author Award (2020), and the Kirkus Prize for Young Readers’ Literature (2019). He uses his personal life as fuel for his stories and creates compelling stories and characters to represent his community. His works tackle complex themes with humor, heart, and a deep understanding of the human experience.
