Event Details
The first week of March is “Severe Weather Preparedness Week” in Illinois. Our state experiences the whole gamut of significant weather from wind storms to tornadoes to devastating snow and ice storms. Professor Paul Sirvatka from the College of DuPage will summarize the nature and climatology of these threats and discuss how you can be prepared and stay safe “when the wind comes sweeping down the plains!”
Professor Sirvatka is nationally known as having developed the most comprehensive community college meteorology program in the country. It includes the NeXt Generation Weather Lab, as well as popular - and exciting! - storm chasing trips for students and the public.
Wednesday, March 3, 7 p.m. This is a free virtual program using Zoom.
