Virtual: A Brief History of Illinois from the Illinois State Archives

David Joens, the director of the Illinois State Archives and live from Springfield, will tell the rarely heard stories behind some of the most interesting historical documents at the Illinois State Archives. He’ll explain how these documents help provide an overview of the 200 plus year fascinating history of the State of Illinois. The Illinois State Archives is located in Springfield in the Margaret Cross Norton Building on the capitol complex. The Norton Building contains 12 floors of official state government and pre-state government records dating back to the early 1700s.
