The Children’s Department offers quality programs designed to meet the needs of specific age levels, for children 3 months old through 6th grade. Most programs require registration, and are limited to Woodridge Public Library card holders. However, most school-age programs are open to students who live outside the Woodridge Library service area, but attend a school within the service area. The online calendar lists the current program schedule. Baby LapsitAn interactive story sharing time for parents or caregivers, and 3-23 month olds. This program consists of fifteen minutes of stories, songs and fingerplays, and then fifteen minutes of playtime for the children and social time for the adults. Toddler TimeTwenty minutes of stories, songs and fingerplays for 2 and young 3 year olds, and their parent or caregiver. StorytimeThis half hour program features stories, songs, and fingerplays for children 3-5 years of age who are not in Kindergarten. Book MagicAn after school storytime for K-3 graders, featuring stories, songs and a craft centered around a theme. Adventure ProgramsAn after school program for 4-6 graders featuring themed stories and a craft. Summer Reading ProgramHeld each summer, there are three different reading clubs to meet the needs of readers preschool-6 grade, and a variety of programs for all ages. Special EventsThe Children’s Department also offers a variety of special programs throughout the year. |
