The Woodridge Public Library offers three types of meeting and study rooms. Meeting RoomThe Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor is the Library's largest meeting space. It is a full-size meeting room with tables and chairs. The Meeting Room seats approximately 80 people. A podium with an attached microphone is available if needed. This room is primarily intended to serve the needs of the Library, but nonprofit or community organizations may use it if there are no Library programs or meetings. The Meeting Room Policy [PDF] explains the guidelines for using the room. The Meeting Room Request Form should be filled out and return to the Library's Business Manger. To inquire about the room’s availability after you have read the policy, contact the Business Manager at the Library (630-964-7899). Study RoomsIn addition to the Meeting Room, there are six smaller study rooms, three in the Adult & Young Adult Department and three in the Children’s Department. These rooms are intended for use by small groups working on projects or students being tutored, but individuals may also use them. You do not need to be a Woodridge resident to use these rooms. In each department, two rooms seat four people, and one room seats six people. These study rooms are available for up to three hours, with time extended if no one else is waiting. Rooms may be booked a week in advance. An ID (preferably a library card) is taken when an individual or group signs in at the Adult & Young Adult or Children’s Reference Desks. The Guidelines [PDF] for use of the study rooms are posted on the doors of the rooms. Quiet Study RoomIn addition to these rooms, there is a Quiet Study Room in the Adult & Young Adult Department that seats several people. The room is wifi accessible, but no conversation is allowed in this room. It is not necessary to sign up to use this room. |
